Xvid problem - "Blue" movie...

When I try to watch Xvid movies on my Windows 98 PC, the movie have a strange "blue" look... Specially peoples faces...

I had the same problem on my laptop (Windows XP) and tried a couple of things...

What I did to solve the problem on my Windows XP PC was:
- Uninstalled every codec's
- Installed Tsunami Filter Pack 3.9.6 (full install except Xvid & fddshow)
- Installed Xvid MPEG-4 codec (newest)
- Installed ffdshow (newest)

Then every Xvid film was perfect and so was my TV-shows (divx3 and so on).

I did the same procedure on my Windows 98SE, BUT xvid movies have a "blue" look......

Can anybody help me on this.... please..............

are you sure they arent cam's, because in my experience cams were very blue... and the normal color seemed dim, plus the terrible quality...

What XviD decoder are you using? FFDshow, Koepi's vanilla decoder or Nic's?

I'm sure it's a real DVD rip.....

But.. this weekend I fixed it by installing Windows Mediaplayer 9 and re-installing Xvid codec and ffdshow...

So... I'm one happy guy!

Maybe you can help me with another problem....

I have another Windows 98 PC with Tsunami Filter Pack 3.9.6 and ols DivX3 movies, when played in full screen (WMP) get out of soundsync after a couple of minutes.... If I turn away from Full Screen it's OK again....

Any ide how to fix this????

Your system is being overtaxed:

1) Turn off any and all unnecessary background programs

2) in Windows Media Player, select "Properties", click on the "Advanced" tab, doubleclick on the DivX codec, move the CPU slider...

Problems with Winamp 3

Hi!

I'm experiencing the same problems. However, I don't use Windows Media Player but I'm trying to play the file in Winamp 3. In Media Player, the file shows fine (and also in bsplayer). I installed the "XVID - 16/07/03" XviD_Install.exe build provided by Nic.

Any ideas about what I should do to get Winamp to play XviD files non-blue?

It's simply that WinAmp is not well-suited to playback this type of video...

Blue videos in media player

i had this prob. all it was, was that the hue control was turned all the way up in my nvidia overlay colour controls. i just pulled it down midway and everything is fine. (get there through display properties).
