    Use VDub/NanDub for this task

Open the first part and set both Video and Audio tabs to Direct Stream Copy.
File-->Append AVI Segment and select the second part.
    Save new Avi [F7]

Note : The res, audio and all that MUST be the same.

this is what I get when I try to open one file with virtualdub:

"couldn't locate decompressor for format 'mp42' (Microsoft High Speed MPEG-4 V2)

VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs such as those used by Windows Media Player are not suitable."

      what should I do???

"couldn't locate decompressor for format 'mp42' (Microsoft High Speed MPEG-4 V2)"

        You're obviously missing a codec.Try d/l a codec pack

and...I think I once read about the same prob.that you could change the FourCC to Divx 3.11(if installed of cource) since that codec is a hack of the Microsoft codec.

"how do I change the fourcc?"

If you're knowledgable regarding file modification, use a hex editor. Otherwise, download (Click on the DivXDigest link at the top of this page) and use a little program aptly named FourCC Changer...
