correcting freezing frames

are there any codecs or software that will prevent freezing frames from freezing during playback?
or better yet is there a way to remove them without the avi defreezer becuase i can't get it to work. does a direct stream copy in virtual dub remove the freezing frames?

If freeze frames are occuring with Divx 3.11 alpha or MSMPEGV4/3/2 content, you should be able to fix this problem by using the Divx Anti Freeze filter.
