So, if I understand you correctly, whereas you previously managed to resolve the audio issue, you have once again fouled it up?

    With all the "crap" you're installing, uninstalling, and "not really uninstalling", it's a wonder your PC even boots ;>}

Maybe the easiest solution for you is to totally uninstall the Nimo codec "pack" and the XviD codec, install and change the video's codec to good old DivX v.3.11alpha, as follows:

    1) Load the .AVI into VirtualDub

    2) Set "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copying"

    3) Set "Video" to "Full Processing Mode"

    4) From under the "Video" dropdown menu, click on "Compression"

    5) Select the codec that you want to change TO - If possible, set the adjustable settings to the same as the original file

    6) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save as AVI" and enter a new filename for the modified file

there's gotta be a way to tell xvid to use mpeg layer 3 codec instead of the avi splitter...

          Look, man...

Dig man, I agree with Setarip...uninstall that NIMO whatever it was you were mentioning and install the codec he advised you of...I think it's called Divx codec 3.11 alpha. Now in WMP I KNOW what I'm about to tell you works. You'll be able to see and hear DIVX files with the Divx codec 3.11 alpha but if I'm remembering corectly, not XVID files. That's where the codec I gave you the link to (in the earlier post) comes in. Download and install it (just click on the icon, and it'll install) and play the file in Windows Media Player. Oh, one more thing I did before I installed the codecs...I updated the WMP, and take note...I did this from the " Help" drop-down menu after I started the Player, NOT from Windows Update. Try this & see what happens.

            Now I'm pissed off.
            Nothing works.
            I uninstalled everything
and then installed xvid.. got nothing.
installed nimo (divx and codecs).. nothing
            uninstalled nimo
installed divx total pack and tsunami..
            nothing

updated wmp9 which downloaded a mpeg layer 3 codec, which is now the codec that gpsoft is detecting.
but still tries to use the avi splitter as audio codec.. damn
I even get a avi splitter as a filter on radlight, but there are no properties to mess with..
I even updated avi splitter to 1.2 or something..
            nothing..
            nothing....
there's gotta be a way, I did it before, just no idea how.

btw, I tried avicodec, it says that the file needs xvid which I have and mpeg 3 which i've got 2, it doesn't say anything about avi splitter cause it doesn't try t o reender..
wtf is up with avi splitter?
im gonna uninstall everything and install tomorrow.. will just call it a day for now..

hahhah this is some funny stuff
it's like codecs have will of their own.
              anyway, I uninstalled everything.
Xvid(koepi), tsunami, divx, divx total pack.
              nimo was already uninstalled.
anyway so I try gspot one more time and there we have it
detected the file and reendered as mpeg layer 3 audio codec.
so I installed divx total pack and there we go.
              all working.
(oh yea I cleaned windows registry first, that prolly helped)

I think I figured it out.
the reason why it's working now it's because when I updated wm9, it set some of the extension for the files wmp should play...
and I used to have radlight set to play .avi, mpg etc..
I still have winamp on mp3, and .avi out, but I checked mpeg back in and it went back to using the mpeg layer 3 audio codec..
if u say wmp is built-in on winxp, something like this could cause be causing this conflit I think..
Cause I installed tsunami, and it screwed all up, then unintalled everything and only divc total pack, and still nothing, then when to wmp9 and checked the extension, and it worked...
well anyway now it's working and I know how to make it work, that's enough for now

Lol dude, Was I driving you insane already?
                    lol

anyway I guess with divx total pack (divx5, xvid, mpeg 3, ac3) I should be all set about codecs huh??

Ok we're back with my problem.
Since it was working yesterday, I didn't do a damn thing besides install radlight , and the movie worked with radlight and then reboot a couple of times today.

it's gotta be something between wmp9 and radlight.
this is something for the experts.

ok so after I rebooted this morning and showed up with a screwed up codec again, I did this:
                        uninstalled radlight
made sure wm9 had all of the desired file extensions.
                        uninstalled total divx codec pack
                        installed again
                        then uninstalled
                        installed tsunami
                        then divx total pack
                        then xvid (koepi)..

now im gonna stop installing and unisntalling stuff cause it seems to have no effect ..

I'm just gonna post whatever codecs I have installed on my computer, maybe it's a codec conflit dunno.

I may be out of my mind, but do I have to actually play an mp3 so the decoder will show up?
anyway, I installed xvid solo and NOW it's working (forgot to add this).
