find out which audio codec is used

hey is there anyway to find out which audio codec is used in an xvid movie? I tried using AVI Preview which comes with kazaa lite but it only says what video codec it was encoded with.. there has to be something out there that tells me what audio codec? Maybe im out of luck, who knows.. thanks for any help you can give me.

1) Load the .AVI file into VirtualDub or NanDub

2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"


(Alternatively, you could use GSpot)

That's what is says under file information:

channels: 5 (stereo)
sample precision: 0-bit
Compression: Unknown (tag 2000)
Preload skew: 28000 samples (.58s)
# of frames: 80757
min/av/max/total frame size: 28/2335/28000 (184222K)

I'll keep searching, but it's not looking good I think.. thanks again for your help, hopefully you have an idea

This is indicative of an .AC3 audiostream...

figured it out..

After doing some searching on google I saw that other people fixed it by installing the AC3 codec which I got from here:

http://download.divxmovies.com/ac3filter_0_63b.exe

The movie played perfect after this, thanks again for your help and replies.
