video and sound sync

I have downloaded a movie (About a boy) with xVid codec and I am using Vidomi to play it. The picture is great and the sound also, but the sound is not in sync with the picture. The delay is maybe one second and its very annoying... Does anyone have any suggestion why this happens and how to fix it?

Before discussing possible methods of adjusting the audio/video synsch, I'd suggest you try playing the video under Windows Media Player to determine if the problem exists only when playing this video with the Vidomi player...
