please help me with codecs

thanks to a fellow member of this forum i have now got the latest nimo codec pack to view my divx and xvid movies.but i am having problems.could anyone please help me?if i install nimo as a complete install there are some movies that just cannot be watched - the two towers is all blocky and green.i have also not been able to watch ringu(japanese original of the ring),although AVIpreview has been able to decode about 4 minutes.i have also had problems with PowerDVD not working after installing nimo.could anyone advise me of what codecs i should install so that i can watch all of my divx and xvid movies and still be able to use Power DVD without any problems.thanks

Uninstall Nimo and reinstall it, this time selecting custom installation and ticking ONLY the codecs that you know you need. Leave the rest out.
