Xvid movies stutter on Radeon 9700

    Hi all,

I recently upgraded my video card to a Radeon 9700 Pro from a GeForce 420mx. Xvid movies always played fine but since the change the Video and Audio periodically stutter for about 1-2 seconds. DivX and MPEG movies seem fine. I have tried the movies on 2 other pc's, one with a GF 2 400 and the other with my old GF 4 card with no problems.

I've rebuilt windows countless times, am using the latest graphics card drivers, have tried both Nic's Binary and Koepi's Binary, and tried changing the FourCC to dx50 (as suggested by Batman) but nothing has stopped the problem.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried using the FFDSHOW playback filter, try using BSPLAYER or ZOOMPLAYER for playback.

Yes, since my original post I've tried ffdshow Version 20020617 and BSPlayer Version 086. I use zoomplayer normally and have version 2.90 installed at the moment.

ffdshow seems to have improved the visual quality but the problem still remains
