    XViD Problem....

Basically I have the green problem when I try and playback my avi films encoded with XViD.

I tried to install ffdshow, but I get an error message:

"Error when opening file for writing:
    'C:\WINDOWS\System32\ffdshow.ax'
Hit abort to abort the installation.
retry to retry writing the file, or
    ignore to skip this file."

If I click ignore, the videos playback the same, with the green'ness in them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi, and welcome.
Reboot into safe mode (F8 on boot) and reinstall ffdshow.
Ensure XviD is ticked during the install. Reboot and try again.
