    Extract audio from DV Avi?

I have a type 2 DV avi file that I want to extract the audio from to clean it up. I 've read that you can use VirtualDub, but I'm running XP and I get the error "couldn't locate decompressor for format 'dvsd'" when I try to load the file. Is there a fix for this or another program that could be used to extract it?

    Thanks.

    hi qtrim
do you have any editing software ?
    premiere, mediastudio etc.
just load it into that and save the audio as a .wav file
clean it up in an audio program such as soundforge and
dump it back in the audio track under the video track in premiere (sic) again... dunno about all the dub progs but..
and i am not too sure about the type 2 DV format loading
sorry... also, soundforge may load the avi file directly into it..
    hope that helps
