Watching DivX Movies in Different Screen Resolutions

First of all, thank you guys for setting up such a site for the video entusiasts comunity. Better than that, now I have a place to search for answers, and an info source to suggest to my friends, co-workers, in-laws and other aliens.
Please, allow me ask a dumb question, specially as I stated that I used to be a pro videomaker during the 80's and early 90's.
Let's pretend I have the Spiderman DivX and subtitles. When watching it in fullscreen, is there any difference in image quality if I set the video setup to 640x480/32bits instead of 1024x768/32 bits?
I can't figure out that by myself, and I hope the answer can help others with the same doubt.
    Thanx in advance!

A lower desktop resolution will result in freeing up resources, which might come in handy on a low-powered system. Otherwise, there should be no observable difference...
