prob with the divx 5.0.3 codecs

Hi, I got some problem here after installing the latest divx 5.03 codec. I can't play these 2 avi files after doing so. That annoying message of "This program has perform illegal function bla bla bla ..." will pop out when I try to play the 2 files. It also pop out when I try to enter the decoder configuration program. I've already tried reinstall the codec and media player but it doesn't solve anything. Oh yeah, however the 2 file can be played using the bundled divx player but I don't like using it.
Any suggestion guys?

Use an alternative decoder such as ffdshow.
