No sound and trouble with video even

I have several AVI files <using the Xvid codex> that I have DL that I either can not get video and audio or I get only video with no audio. At first Win media player would give errors when trying to access now it just sits there once the file is loaded <running Win Med 9.0>. Divix player says "failed to open file" on either of the files <running 2.0 with 5.0 bundle I think,,,>. When I use Quicktime I can get the video to play but I get no sound. When I run Gspot it tells me the following:

Video Formet 4CC Xvid Name Xvid Status Codex is installed
Audio Format Name 0x0055(mp3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3
Status Codex is installed

I've tried 3 different files that are XVID that I DL from 3 different sources.

ANy ideas? ALL help is appreciated.

Got it

K got it all working now.....

I basically guess I had a codex conflict from too many. I unistalled everything I had installed....codex's, packs, all of ita and slowly installed one at a time and tested.

Everything is working now
