Xvid movie can't play from CD

My Xvid movies plays fine from the HD, but when I burn them onto CDs, they won't play anymore. I use mp6.4, zoom and the Divx Player.
Can anyone give me a clue what's going on?

What method are you using to burn them and how are you trying to play these movies from the cd?
Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:

Also search on the whole Digital-Digest website:

playback good from HD nothing from CD

I also cannot play back from CD but can from HD. I burned file using the latest Nemo. Only occurs with Xvid. Some burns will not run at all. Some burns will actually play the first 20 seconds of movie perfectly. I've tried various Xvid's, Nic, Koepi, Tsunami. Have tried using BSPlayer and WMP9 and 6.4. All players react the same.
Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

I used Nero and Adaptec Easy Cd creator. All settings left as default.
I tried to play them in mplayer, zoom player and divx theplayer, using tsunami or nemo codec. None works so far, only works when played from HD.

Are you converting them to VCD/SVCD? Or are you just burning them to disc

I've been just burning the file directly using Nero. It works great on Divx and other formats. But I can only get the beginning to play from the CD. It does write the full 700+MB file however.

I would suggest you convert them to VCD with TMPGEnc and burn them with Nero like that.

                CD no go

Hm, so I tried converting to VCD but TMPGEnc just crashes. I'd rather not have to convert to VCS anyway since I already have a bunch of CD's.

Any other ideas? Thanks. I'm at my wit's end.

                  Don't buy Jensen CDR

So the issue all along with that the CDRs sucked. As soon as I ditched the crappy Jensens and tried a Maxell, everything worked fine.
