playing selectable audio with a video

hi folks,

i wonder if someone could recommend me a player that can open audio and video files separately, so e.g. enables me to watch a ripped movie with either the original soundtrack or the dub (extra languages that the dvd has), depending on which language i'd like to watch the movie with.

If you've ripped the ENTIRE DVD to your hard drive, virtually any software DVD player (such as WinDVD) should allow you to readily select which audio stream to activate - even while the video is playing...

yes i did rip the whole thing, but idea is that i write the video on a cd alongside with two audio streams, one in the original language (english, practically), and the other in my native language.
so that when i watch the movie with my mom eg. who doesnt speak english, i would open the video and choose the local language mp3 stream as audio, wheras other times i may want to play it in english, so i would open the english language stream.

so, im looking for a player that you can open the video and the audio with separately.

What compression format are you using to convert the DVD (.AVI, MPEG1, MPEG2, .MOV, etc.)?

hi,

i compress the video with divx, audio to .mp3 or .ogg.
i think my wish is quite a natural one, actually i'm astonished no one seems to have been asking for it so far.
