    Bad playback

Okay, having scoured the webto no avail, and i hope it hasnt been asked before, but im trying to play a Divx5 video on the TV. Obviously i had to set the resolution to 640x480 for it to work on the TV. The colour depth was 16-bit and i started it playing and got awful grainy quality. This happened with another div4 video too, but all others, div3 though work fine. I upped the colour depth to 24-bit and it was back at good quality but jerky. Higher resolutions work fine at any depth. Any ideas why? Is this a limitation with divx encoding as i know divx4 and 5 only encode at 24 or 32bit colour depths. I encoded the divx movie as an xvid in virtualDub setting output colour to 16-bit and its fine at 640x480 16bit depth? But can divx output be at 16-bit or made to work at 640x480 16-bit depth?

    Thanks

    John

If it is grainy you probably have low quality cables or you have to big of one
