.AVI to DVD & Author with Spruce Meastro

I used Spruce Maestro w/ tmpgenc & AC3machine.. so this would be a guide how to get .m2v and .ac3 file to import into Meastro. Maybe sometime I will make a larger guide with pictures, but for now it's only how to get the .avi into .m2v and .ac3 format.

    --DV camera (hi8, dv, etc...) -> .m2v & .ac3 formt--

    1) (Video Stream) Open TMPGENC.
    - click LOAD and select "DVD (NTSC).mcf" (should be in the templates folder in the tmpengc program folder)
    - Change stream type to "Video Only"
    - Choose your "VIDEO source" (should be your edit or unedited .avi file)
    - Choose where you want your output file to go to (make sure the ext is .m2v)
    - click start

Once this is done, you have your .m2v file for Spruce Maestro.

    2) (Audio Stream) Open TMPGENC.
    - click LOAD and select "DVD (NTSC).mcf" (should be in the templates folder in the tmpengc program folder)
    - Change stream type to "Audio Only"
    - Choose your "AUDIO source" (should be your edit or unedited .avi file)
    - Choose where you want your output file to go to (make sure the ext is .mpa)
    - click start

Once this is done, you have your .mpa which will be converted into an .AC3 with AC3machine.

    3) (Audio Stream - step #2) Open AC3machine.
    - Select "Input (AC3)"
    - Choose where you want your "Output (AC3)". (make sure it has ext of .ac3)
    - Click go.

Once done you have your .ac3 file for Spruce Meastro.

    4) Import your .ac3 file and your .m2v into the Spruce Maestro asset bin.

Your done.. but now you need to figure out how to work Maestro good luck.

(there are so many guides out for spruce, so I am not even going to try and compete with that)

thanks for the great instructions, but I have a prob. When I import the assets into Maestro, Maestro give me a different timecode on the audio and the video, neither of which is right. I did the math and it comes out that Maestro is calculating the duration based on 30 FPS even though it says 29.97, so the audio is way off sync, help!
