Xvid movie flickers as it pans.

Whenever I play an xvid movie there is a slight but anoying flicker as the camera pans in the film. It only does it when there is movement on the film.

I cant understand why this is happening. can anyone help?

    Thanx Jimbob.

    hi Jimbob

    late answer.. I know..
    I just encountered your question..

I had the same problem and thought XviD has a problem with movements.. - I downloaded the FFDShow-Filter to playback DirectShow-using videos.. configured FFDShow to use the XviD4 Codec to decode XviD-movies and told my MediaPlayer (Media Player Classic) to use the FFDShow Filter as Video-Filter (most of the Videoplayers did this right away without having to change anything)..

Now all the movies are playing smooth, even in Windows Media Player v9, what everybody is denoting as "so bad" :?

    cheers, andi.rayo

I just had the exact same problem for one of my Xvid movies, tried re-installing codecs without success. After a couple hours of experimenting, I found that by unistalling the Xvid Codec and installing ffdshow alone i was able to play the movie perfectly.
This was the class ID for the file that I had major stuttering prolems with just the video and not the audio. I have a decently fast computer, and there was no specific reccomendation anywhere ot do that but it sure worked, so my advice would be to install the bare minimum of codecs to make some of the more advanced movies work.
This was the movies Class ID : {E436EBB5-524F-11CE-9F53-0020AF0BA770} (Found in the graph information of Zoom Player)
