Dark pictures

When viewing any XVID file i get very dark playback, sound is fine and all other formats play with normal pictures and no problems.
I have installed the latest XVID codec but no luck
I use WMP8 and also have windvd platinum and the same problem in both.

Athlon XP+ 2200
1Gb DDR 233
120Gb HDD

Please help!!

xvid filter let you select the desired brightness.
just go to preferences in the player, select xvid filter and set the brightness.
it depends what player you use.

i do not have an XVID player and cannot find the brightness option you mention, the codec i have is XviD (Koepi's build) any more ideas?

Use WMP 6.4 (Run 'mplayer2.exe' from the Run Command) or BSPlayer to play the movie. Access the XviD Decompressor from within the File Properties and you will see the afore-mentioned brightness setting bar.
