Audio not playing, weird codec?

I just downloaded a DivX version of Bowling for Colombine, it consists of 2 files and NONE will playback the audio. I've reinstalled the latest DivX version, and tried both windows media player, and DivX Playa, but none of them plays the sound.

DivX error messege:
The video file you're opening includes audio data that is not recognized by DivX playa.

The file contains the following type of the data:

Audio data: tag 8192

You may need to install a new video codec to playback the data.

But how do I know which codec?
Anyone have a clue?

try other codec packs!!!

load the file in g-spot and post a screenshot !!!

or else remove nimo codec pack(if u have it) and try try other complete codec packs like the tsunmai codec pack.

I had'nt installed the AC# codec, that was it.

if it was AC3 the audio tax should've been 2000 but whatever works!

According to information at the XVID FAQ Forum (http://www.xvidmovies.com/faq/.), the FOURCC code "8192" is yet another .AC3 codec - this one, specifically:

'2000' and '8192' is the exact same.

'2000' is the hexadecimal and '8192' is the decimal spelling.

You need an AC3 Decoder like
intervideo audio decoder 'iviaudio.ax'
or
AC3-Filter 0.68b 'ac3filter.ax'
or
Moonlight Odio Decoda 'mlcom.ax'
or
Cyberlink PowerDVD Audio Decoder
or
or
...

Yes, your hex conversion is obviously correct. However, the specific .AC3 codec that I listed, is the only one that uses the decimal FOURCC Header...

I have the codec ac3 installed in my system and video is not playing in divx player but it plays in wmplayer9...can u help me to fix this problem? Also if we play the xvid format video it plays but image is upside down...any fix?

That is wrong.
The Audio-Tag ist exactly the same in the avi and the Codecs can't differ between 0x2000 (hex) and 8192 (dez).
The problem is that some programs show the audio-tag in hex and some show them in dez.
Any Codec or Filter that is capable of decoding 0x2000 (hex) can also decode 8192 (dez), because it is identical in any aspect.
