dvdSHRINK best quality codec for compressing dvds

i use dvdshrink to compress my dvds. First I use DvD decrypter to rip all the files in file mode onto the harddrive. Then i go through each VOB and menu and try to compress it as much as possible with DvDShrink. I use Level 8 compression on all the extras (the still movie compression is jsut annoying and really should just cut the whole extra out for more room), and try to get the main movie to the highest quality as possible. On movies like Silenece of the Lambs and Matrix...

im stuck on Level 5 which sucks. And im on Level 8 for everythign else. Level 5 is watchable but really you should never dip lower than 3-4. Do you guys know any better codecs or compression algorithms? is InstantCopy a much better tool, quality-wise bec i dont care about speed if the quality is much better

    please help
i tried using dvd2one but it gets confusing using ifo edit and then renaming everyting. dvdshrink has the best interface but the quality is so-so
