warning: can't create direct draw surface

i have xp. i tried using bsplayer to play a movie that is xvid codec. when i opened the movie using bs player it said warning: can't create direct draw surface... someone please tell me what i need to do. also, what is the best player to use for both divx and xvid movies? thanks, scott

go here http://www.doom9.org , then click downloads, then download gordon pack 1.1 and install it all. this will allow u to watch all new divx, xvid, and old movies for sho

Doesn't BSplayer automaticaly switch to rgb after that message?
I've seen this happening on systems with weak SiS video cards...

rgb? i didn't get the greatest video card but i haven't had problems until now, so i really can't answer that
