    [CRAM/msvc][microsoft video 1] problem

    [CRAM/msvc][microsoft video 1] problem

    I can't play avi files using that codec, due to the install of a bad codec pack.
    The problem is, i can't seem to find that codec anywhere on the net.
    Out of despiration, i reinstalled media player, but that don't work.

    Any idea's on how to fix it?

      I believe that codec is installed as part of the initial Windows installation. You might try looking on your Windows installation discs...

        Yes, I think so to.
        But i can't find it on the cd's, a mircosoft offers no download for it.

          The actual filename is "MSVIDC32.DLL"

            Weird, if i search for it on the XP cd, it automaticly finds something in mij docsetting/local folder.

            But I see that i have that file in C:\WINDOWS\system32
            I don't get what to do now...

              The one presently on your hard drive must be corrupt. Reinstall it from your installation CD...

                I have the same Problem. But a Reinstall fix not the Problem. The File : MSVIDC32.DLL is on System avaibele.

                What can I do please.

                  Hi guys.. I had the same prob...I couldn't find this damned codec anywhere..
                  but i found it into the "ACE Mega Codec Pack 5.01"...u can do a custom installation to install only this codec..and not the others...and now my videos are working very well..

                    this is what you need:

                    /http://download.microsoft.com/download/winmediatech40/Install/8.0/WIN98Me/EN-US/wmpcdcs8.exe

                    But if you had ACE codek pack installed it wont work..
                    ACE Stuffed up My computer, so i can not play movies made by Micosoft video_1 codec..
                    I'm working on it how to fix this..?

                    If at any time u download a video (especially a .avi file) only to find that u don't have the proper Codec installed on your system to play the file then this is a good software which tells you what video codecs (audio and video) are required to play an AVI file. It also tells you which codecs are currently installed on your system. Download it from :
