Download FFDShow Alpha and you will see an option in the Misc. Menu called Flip Video and select that

Where do you see these options?

I have downloaded ffdshow, but have no idea how to use it. There is no EXE. How do I get to the menu options?

      Thanks,
      Rooster

Under your startmenu/(all) Programs Find FFDShow then click on Configure then under Misc. select flip video

I have the menu option, but it doesn't appear to do anything

I choose Start - FFDShow - Configuration, I get the hourglass very briefly, and that's it. No menu, nothing pops up. I can see that it is trying to run this :

          D:\WINXP\system32\rundll32.exe ffdshow.ax,configure

I have checked, ffdshow.ax is correctly located in my D:\WINXP\system32 folder, it just doesn't seem to do anything. On the other hand, I installed Zoomplayer, and went into the options and found filter control. In that dialog box, I can see FFDShow in the list. I select it and click on Register, and it comes up with a dialog box telling me it is now registered. I then select to open an AVI, and I can watch the film without problems using the Zoomplayer. It has brightness controls and they work perfectly, so my original question was answered. Thanks!

However, I would still like to know more about FFDShow. How can I tell it is working? And how do I get to this famous Misc setting?

You wrote "Under your startmenu/(all) Programs Find FFDShow then click on Configure then under Misc. select flip video". I have found FFDShow in the start menu, clicked on configure, and then nothing happens. There is no Misc, nor any option to select flip video.

          Cheers,
          Rooster

            I would try reinstalling it.
