mov chop? or mov to avi.. please help

i really need help to convert a .mov to an avi... or even better, i want to chop a .mov. someone plz help!

You could try the utility called MOV2AVI which you will probably be able to download from this site. This program will not operate within windows; only from within DOS.
If you are using Win95/98, then activate the DOS Prompt from your System (accessories) Utilities folder.
DOS has disappeared in WinXP but you can still get outside the shell by using the Command Prompt (found in the same place above)
The utility comes with a simple but adequate Help FAQ but the command line goes something like:
D:\ (Drive containing the MOV file) (.mov file) (.avi file) eg:
D:\ mymov.mov myavi.avi (use this format inc spaces)
When you reach the DOS/Command Prompt don't forget to change into the Directory (Folder) in which you have stored the .mov file. eg: cd\d:
