    Jerking video

    I have this problem with PAL DVD rip. Sound is fine, but video is not. It looks like some frames are jumping back and forth creating the jerking playback. I remember, somebody somewhere has mentioned that that's a somwhat common problem when encoding DVD's from PAL format and happen due to improper sync fram, and that it can be fixed by virtual dub. Anybody knows anything about this problem and specifics on how to fix it? Other videos do play just fine on my rig.

    1) Load file into VirtualDub (or one of its variants)

    2) Set BOTH "Video" and "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copy"

    3) From under the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Framerate"

    4) Select "Change to" "frames per second" and enter "23.976"

    5) Click on "OK"

    6) Save with a new filename

    Let us know of your success ;>}
