I'm having difficulty keeping a proper aspect ratio when trying to edit video ripped from a DVD.
I rip using SmartRipper
TMPenc has no problem rendering in Mpeg formats when I tell it to keep aspect ratio.
However, I want to edit the video in Premiere 6.0 or MGI VideoWave 4. I use VFAPIconv to create an AVI wrapper and I can load it. But then I lose the proper 16:9 aspect ratio. The characters are elongated (tall) regardless of what settings I use in either software. It also shows warped in the Windows media player.
What can I do to restore the proper aspect ratio to AVI wrapped d2v's or is there a way to directly edit the d2v/vob files?
Thanks,
Marc
