    Movie maker/VirtualDub bug or stupid

After reading DV through IEEE1394 with Microsoft Movie Maker, I used to de-interlace the video with VirtualDub filters, using the .avs file avsynth script code to import the filename.avi file into VirtualDub

    DirectShowSource("filename.avi")
    separatefields

Import and processing of .avi files created with Microsoft Movie Maker 1 was never a problem. After upgrading to Microsoft Movie Maker 2, sound is missing completely after processing the file with VirtualDub for de-interlacing.

I recovered my WindowsXP system to the status with Microsoft Movie Maker 1 and everything works fine again. But I'd like to work with Microsoft Movie Maker 2.
    Can anyone help?
