    3ivx codec, RGB backward.

    Hello,

I had issues when trying to play some encoded .avi files.

I found the following thread that covered my problems.....

Talk about all other file container formats and video codecs in this forum, including Ogg, RMVB, MOV, ASF, WMV ...

I then installed "3ivx", which seems to be a great thing..... as everything now works...... only the RGB is backward and everything looks like it glows. most things now look greenish/blue and skin is always green or blue..... all video looks like a black and white copy that has been poorly colored with water color paints. =[ AHHhhh.

    I use winamp only.
I have no other codecs or packs installed.

    Any suggestions?

    "I use winamp only."

WinAmp is not the "greatest" all around player to use. Try installing and using good ol' reliable Windows Media Player v.6.4...

(Desktop>>Start>>Run Then type MPLAYER2.EXE to install)

      Setarip,

      Thanks!
You were right, I don't encouter the problem when running windows media player. =]

However, I have dual monitors and like to multi-task. [run video on one monitor while working on the other] When running in 'full screen' mode of WMP, if you type.... it kicks you out of full screen.

Are you familiar enough with WMP to know how to get around this?

      Many thanks =]

          use bsplayer instead of wmplayer.
it has many more config options, and imo it's way better than wmp.

when playing the movie in bsplayer, just press F and you're fullscreen.

install latest version (086.501). to get the 501 version, you have to download the 500 version, then update it with the nightly build 501. both files are here http://www.bsplay.com/

That BS play doesn't work at all. it just makes a bunch of slanted pixelated lines everytime. =|

the site only let me download version 0.86.499, i didn't locate an update file.

maybe it doesn't find the codecs on my computer?

it looks potential great and it keeps full screen, it just doesn't play my divx videos.

Am I stuck in windoze media player hell forever ;]

            ??
