Getting errors in media player and divx player

I go to DivX player, and load the movie, Its a .avi and it says NOT VALID AVI OR MPEG-4.When I go to Windows Media Player Error. "It says Cannot Play back the file. The Format is not supported." Its a .avi. I try to open it in Virtual Dub and it doesnt work. Same with Nan Dub. They bot get the same error. That it cant determine what kind of file it is. Can anyone help?

Sounds like you have a corrupt file.

What software and procedures did you use to create this .AVI?
