Questions about video capture from satellite receiver

Two questions here guys.

1. Are there any video capture programs that can cut out commercials like TiVo?
2. Is there any way for me to change the channels on my DirecTV receiver from my computer? (in another room) If I can't do this then I really can't set up timed recordings as I will always have to manually change the channels on my DirecTV receiver.

I have not found any programm to determine commercials
from mainmovie ..exactly.
I have tried to use the panasonics format detection filter.... but with little success. the editing I had to do was as much as without using it!!

I don't know a whole lot about my receiver other than its a few years old and its a Hughes HIRD E1 Silver Edition. Is that what you wanted?
