    WMV -> MPG conversion question.

    I got a couple of WMV files off the Internet and due to my slow PC (P3-667 and 256 Ram) the seek times for the format are around 5 secs. And so I go on to convert it to MPG, but its conversion times are like real-time. Like it takes 2 hrs for a 2 hr movie and ½hr for a ½hr movie. How do I make it convert faster?

    That's a real simple question to answer... get a faster PC... what program are you using btw?

      Wow, that reply must have took ages to come up with. Anyway a new PC wont help much as the conversion takes place like in realtime, like a 1hr movie will encode in 1hr even though its a 3ghz its running on. BTW, I used Blaze Media and EasyXVC.

        Never ever tried to convert anything from .wmv before... you could try EO Video. If you still get the same conversion rate on a 3Ghz computer, then there's nothing anyone else can do for you. Approach MS helpdesk for assistance.
