I can't seem to play Xvid

I was attempting to play an .avi with DivX and it gives me this line about not being able to play it. I looked for some infor about it and grabbed the Xvid codec for DivX but nothing changed, can anyone help me?

To clarify, I can't see anything, the audio plays fine and WMAv.9 cannot play it.

WMAv.9? I suppose you mean Windows Media Player 9... or am I mistaken?

Don't use that sucky player even if your life depends on it... Try BSPlayer or MV2 Player

The best free media player in the world. BS.Player™ is used by more than 70 million computer users throughout the world and it has been translated into more than 90 languages. It can download and playback any YouTube video and automatically download subtitles.

Thanks, MV2 player worked. I was told to use BSplayer by someone before, but it didn't work either. It gave me the same error that the others did. I know Media Player sucks, but again, i heard that version 6.5 was able to play XVid format, but I thought that was a load of crap (which it was). Thanks for telling me about MV2

I also tried FFDShow, but I'm new at a lot of this, so I couldn't figure out how to get it to work.

I suppose that you already have FFDShow installed...

In MV2 Player, goto Options\DS Graph Use FFDShow Rawmode

Then go to FFDShow (same options) and configure

Choose all codecs under "Codecs" and enable post processing.

              Working...
