    smudgey video

i had this problem for a couple of times already, and i wonder if anyone has a solution:

some movies that i burnt got corrupted while burning
and when i play them they get smudgy.
i tried to fix them using divfix, but it doesn't seem to find any problem,
and i have the latest codecs

if anywone can help me, i'll appreciate it.

Smudgy? Did you try cleaning your CD-Rom lens? Or did you convert them to VCD while burning? Clean your CDs as well.

hehe, nothing like that. burnt it normally, as a .avi file.
when i say smudgy i mean corrupted the whole way.
the frames are one on the other. something weird.

you should use a burning software ... you can rely on....

since most avi ´s are data format your burningsoftware or burner
should be able to burn DATA as is, that means correctly.....
if not use nero....set your cd / dvd drive to DMA.......
there should be no change of any data while burning....
left alone the changes you definitly did on purpose!!

          i'm using nero 6
          i have a plextor burner.
anyway, nevermind that, even if i copy the fie back to the hard drive, it's still problematic.
what i'm looking for is a way to fix the file.
          any ideas?

as I said...... burning to and from a disk should not provide
any problems......make sure that you do not have the any
copy protection bit set in nero or any protection bit that will yield your own cd as copyrighted!
