    AVI Crashes Software

I have an AVI and GSpot produces the following results:

    Codec:
    4cc: xvid Name: XviD

    Audio:
    ac3 (0x2000) "Dolby Laboratories, Inc"

    DirectShow Render:
    Source: MEDIASUBTYPE_Avi
    Video Media: 4cc: XVID
    Audio Media: MEDIASUBTYPE_DOLBY_AC3
    Splitter: AVI Splitter
Video Codec: ffdshow MPEG-4 Video Decoder
Audio Codec: AC3 from AVI XForm --> InterVideo Audio

If I load it inside Nandub, and I try to press the Play button at the bottom, it will say "ACM failed to suggest audio decompression format"

    Any ideas what is wrong?

    Thanks.

Looks like you have to install an .AC3 filter/codec...

I installed the AC3 Filter from sourceforge.net but still it crashes.

Oh, blah. Now I run the AVI and it works. What's weird, however, is that it crashes the program once I close the AVI file (this is from BSPlayer). And if I let it load in WMP, if I close WMP, it'll crash, too. Crash here means that little screen pops up and asks - do you want to send this to Microsoft?

I guess I can live with this little annoyance, but I would be happy if there was a reason why it's crashing...

Make yourself a happy camper - Install good ol' reliable Windows Media Player v.6.4, as follows:

Desktop >> Start >> Run Then type MPLAYER2.EXE

        Working...
