I am trying to burn a vcd using nero 6 from an xvid file. If I just use the xvid and nero the video is updise down, tmpgenc produces a file that nero says is more than 70 minutes (its actually 44 minutes. If I use Dr Divx the audio ends up out of sync with the video. Any Ideas?

Based on TMPGEnc's misinterpretation of the timeline, it's apparent that your XviD-compressed .AVI contains a Variable Bitrate ("VBR") .MP3 audiostream.
Converting .AVIs with VBR-MP3 Audio for use with TMPGEnc
Using VirtualDubMOD to Convert "VBR" .MP3 to Uncompressed .WAV
1) Load the .AVI file into VirtualDubMOD (a different program than the standard VirtualDub)
2) From the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Direct Stream Copy"
3) From the "Streams" dropdown menu, select "Stream List" - and rightclick on the audio stream, then select "Full Processing Mode" - then click on "OK"
4) Save with a new filename
