Xvid crashes all players or out of sync sound

I've tried installing the xvid codec , Tsunami 3.9.9 and ffdshow and I cant get my movie to play in any viewer as it just crashes to the desktop everytime, the second half of my movie shows the first frame and crashes, sometimes a green frame will be shown before crashing as well.

My only other xvid movie will play but the audio will be horribly out of sync so it is unwatchable.

I cant even use avipreview to look at these as it crashes.

Is there anyway I can convert this movie to another format or watch it in anyway? any help much appreciated.

Yeah gave that a whirl but still same problem.

So anyone know what is wrong with it as Gspot says the file is fine as well but aviheaderviewer crashes as it tries to open it.

Is this problem likely to br caused by corruption from download or a problem with my codecs/filters ?

If you've downloaded illicit copies of commercial movies, there's a good chance they are intentionally fouled up - or worse, could contain a trojan horse, virus, worm, etc.

These ones are verified to work from several reliable sources.

Either way I'm lost on how to view them
