installing Nimo Codec Pack

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right section of the forum, but here goes anyway:

Upon installation of Nimo Codec Pack 5, I get these error messages:

1: Error opening file for writing:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\msvcr70.dll

2: Error opening file for writing:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\DivXdec.ax

3. Error opening file for writing:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ffdshow.ax

the files in question are not write-protected or anything, so I can't for the **** of it understand why it should be a problem installing the codec pack. I'm running winxp pro with admin priv's.

I'm sorry for posting this topic here, but I couldn't get access to the forums on the official nimo page, as they seemed to be down at the moment.

Because the installation program cannot write to these files, I have a few problems viewing certain avi-files.

Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated!

well, my username I can't do much about. It's just a Smashing Pumpkins songtitle though.

the avatar I agree was a bit extreme, and as far as the signature, it's a line from a Faith no More song.

You basically have to delete old files. This is covered in FORUM FAQ at Nimo's site:

well, actually. It didn't work, as windows won't let me either delete or move the files in question, so basically, I'm back to square one again.

Strange. I just went ahead and moved the first two files you mentioned into a subfolder (cut and paste) from windows/system32.

(I moved mine back of course)

Gonna give it another try later..
I downloaded bs player and it plays all my avi files just fine.
