This is a strange one. Apologies if in wrong forum. Wasn't sure where this fit.
Client has:
Windows XP
Hard drive A - 2 X 40 partitions. (C & D Drive)
CD&RW & DVD = F/G Drive
Newly installed 200GB WD Hard Drive as Partition H
He uses roxio video wave to transfer his home movies to digital video on his hard drive.
So let's say he copies it to either of Hard Drive A's partitions..Works fine.
However, let's say he has it go directly to the new 200GB hard drive..The video plays as gibberish(patches of colour like a blurry quilt!) during playback with no sound.
I asked him to copy a home video from one of the original drives to the new drive..Gibberish playback again.
I ask him to copy it back over to d drive...as a new file...He does...Works fine!
Apparently, mp2's work fine on the new 200gb drive as well...
Just these home videos (avi format)
Any thoughts why this is happening?
I suppose it's possible the drive is defective..but seems highly unlikely.
Thanks,
jody
