Washed bright section during vid capture

    Hi,
I run a modest film to video transfer business and we recently started offering DVD service. We caputer from SVHS to a high end computer for rendering and burning. Lately I've noticed sections of video that were rather bright on the source are washed out on the captured file.

I use a DV500 for caputer via SVideo or fire wire when from MiniDV. Someone reccomende a video processing amp and someone else reccomended a better card. I've got 20 jobs due in 10 days are sure need a straight answer yesterday.

    Any assistance is appreciated.

If you said you were capturing from COMMERCIAL VHS (movies), I'd tell you that you're seeing the effects of Macrovision protection...
