    Convert .VOB to .avi

How would I go about converting .vob files ripped off a DVD to a .avi file ?

What im doing is, ripping certain chapters off DVD's, then wanting to convert them to avi's, then creating a menu for them, to play in my car CD/DVD player, I just want some funny clips from movies all together on 1 DVD-R disc. I have ULead movie factory and it only recongnizes .avi files or I would just join the individual .vob files.

    Thanks,
    jmet

im sorry im sick, no it cant playback avi's. What I meant to say is I want to use ULead Movie Factory, or whatever that program is called, to take all the avi's and make 1 DVD out of all of them using ULead, by default it only accepts avi's to make DVD's. Or of there is a way to organize all the different vob files from various movies in to a single well menued DVD

DVD2AVI helps to create a .AVI file from a .VOB file ripped from any DVD.
DVDdcrypter works pretty well to rip the original encrypted DVD.
(You can download both from www.doom9.org free)
However I could not succeed to get the sound -maybe I don' t know how to use the correct audio filter-
Please advise if you / or anyone knows how to enable the sound with the .AVI file obtained from .VOB with DVD2AVI
        Regards

Either DVD Decrypter, or Smartripper. I prefer Smartripper for ripping specific chapter information because it's more flexible. Then FlaskMpeg to convert to AVI. Make sure you have "AVI Output" selected. (Options > Select Output Format > AVI Output)

Sure. Use "TMPGEnc DVD Author" (Different than "TMPGEnc") to load each as a "separate track" - and EASILY create a main menu and sub-menus - and chapters, if you like...
