Hi all.
I've encountered a very intresting problem. After sucsessfully having played divx movies in the past, recently the files have started becoming "corrupted". With this I mean that when trying to play the files WMP hangs and displays that "a unknown error has occured". Trying to open the file in gspot then results in gspot freezing. The most intresting of all is that when trying to delete the files it is impossible because they are "used by another process". Not even starting WindowsXP in safe mode works! The problem started with a downloaded file and seems to have spread since that, but the virus scanner shows all clear (AVG Antivirus, updated). I have tried reinstalling the divx codecs but that did not help either. The only way to remove the files is to reformat the entire partition. What is even more intresting is that some divx files work and others do not. And just recently a file that has been working flawlessly till now started displaing the same error! To my knowledge the only recent install/update done was to install drivers for .OGG files and I have tried removing those but no luck.
Any ideas anyone?
System config:
WinXP sp1
point-of-view GF4Ti4200 v.53.03
Divx total pack v.1.71
Windows Media Player 9
