Can someone help me making a .avi file from an .str psx file?

hi. i'm new to everything related to encoding/decoding.
i need to make an .avi or .mpg movie out of a psx video, tried every decoding utility for the .str format but none of them seem to recognize the file as a movie. Any idea?
