    AVI->DVD Problem w/TMPGEnc

    Ah, buggy software. Here's the problem:

    When encoding an AVI file to DVD, TMPGEnc will continue encoding past the end of the source file; it reports the source position as 51 minutes, progress at 33%. The source video is only 45 minutes long. The preview window shows the last frame from the video.

    What gives? Hitting "cancel", the video seems to be OK.

    I'm using TMPGEnc Plus 2.5.

    What is your operating system? Are you using the trial version of TMPGEnc Plus 2.5, or the full version?

      It is the full version of the software. I'm using Windows 2000 SP4 w/all the latest updates (windows, drivers, etc). The system is a P4C, i865 mobo w/512MG RAM.

        I would first try to uninstall TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 (including any stray registry keys) restart and then install it again.

          1) Load the original .AVI video file into VirtualDub (or one of its many variants) or NanDub

          2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

          3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box
