Xvid codec NIC's and KOEPI's

hey

can anyone help me with this problem?
i have movies that are encoded in either koepi's or nic's version of the Xvid codec. but i cannot have both of the codecs installed on my machine at the same time. if i install one, the other stops working. i would have to have one uninstalled to use the other. why is this happening?

should only need one. If all else fails try FFDshow

i downloaded ffdshow and it works. i can now play movies encoded with both nic's and koepi's without having to uninstall one or the other.
