It's a whole multimedia station and player built in as well.

Yes i said my reson why i'd prefer other players and not wmp9
cause wmp9 has some many things such as radio web updates
etc which are simply unuseful cause the most important thing would be options on viewing and setting up your movie playback
sound options and other things which have to do with the movie.
Besides that since wmp9 has so much sh** built in it takes plently of pc resources to just play a movie.

You must have a slow pc then. I have a 2.4ghz P4 and the most cpu that gets used on mine is 30%, and in case you did'nt read my last post i said that WMP9 had equalizers and video setting's. And if your on about when you play MP3's or anything they get updated from the web then you can disable that in the options. I'm not a M$ lover (infact quite the opposite) but i have to say that i love this player cause it can do so many thing's.

All thus stuff, exept SRS n' music backup's, I can have with ZoomPlayer plus filters too...

But I can replace SRS with some "even better" winamp plugins via ffdshow's audio filter !!!

Also thus 4Front headphone plugin is for WMP9 and Winamp also avariable...

And backing up music with WMP9... You really do this ???

Woudnt use such a "limited" way of encoding... ´

I would'nt say that it's limited, when you want to encode music you can go from 40kbps to 335kbps, or if you want you can go for the lossless format 970kbps+. Critisize anything you want about WMP9, but i can always come back with something.

The encoder only works with winxp and not earlier versions such as win98.Besides that usally 160/192 would be more than enough
that bitrate provides excellent quality and good filesize.
Go further than that thus going to .wmv will increase quality which sometimes wouldn't even notice and icrease the file size
                      12 as .mp3.

there are many encoders out there which definitly beat wmp9
                      Xing is one of them.

WMP9 is pre-payed (bundled licence with winxp)
