    Bad chunk in frame data

Hello, my apologies in advance, this is my first post in these forums, so if I don't give the correct information I will try to do so in the future.

I have been trying to view a variety of AVI files lately, and through the use of GSpot, the error in every file seems to be "Bad chunk in frame data" "An invalid chunk has been encountered in the list containing A/V frame data."

All the files play for 5-10 seconds video/sound and then just stop.

Is this a fixable problem in the files? Or should I scrap all the files. Thank you kindly for your advice.
