Problem With Playback

Hey guys, thanks for reading...

Recently i had to reformat my drive...long story...anyway, i did a clean install and now when i download videos that use xvid (checked with gspot) i get like a thick green wave from the bottom and distortion...i never had this problem before i formated the drive...i'm not sure i've downloaded the right codec though i did download the most recent one

Does anyone know why it is doing this and how i can fix it? Thanks!
