avi etc to dvd

I have capturted Hi8 from my video camera onto my pc using Studio 7. I want to make a DVD out of all the clips. I have downloaded TMPGEnc plus but it wont recognise my .avi files. Should I be saving them as something else in Studio? How do I do this?

Studio usually creates a non-compliant type-1 AVI that TMPGEnc won't recognize. You can try a different converter like CCE-Basic, or convert the AVI to a different format, like Huffyev. I use Scenalyzer to capture, it makes a type-2 AVI that is widely compatable with other programs.

In TMPGEnc, under "Environmental Settings" > "VFAPI Plugin" rightclick to set the "Directshow Multimedia Reader" to the highest priority. This will allow TMPGEnc to read a properly encoded AVI file
