MPG2 playback on Media Player - skips

Hi,

When I playback MPG2 video ( 720 x 576 CBR 6000 ) with
Media Player, I get skipping after about 2 minutes of normal playback.

I simply pause the video and hit play, and the video continues normally for another minute or 2 and starts to skip again.

Any ideas as to why this is happening. I don;t think it's the mpg2 file, because it happens with mpg2's encoded with TMPGenc and Canopus let edit as well.

I am running media player 6.4 ( I know it's a bit old )

If I upgrade to a later version, can anyone tell me which versions
are OK or buggy ?

As an experiment, I would try to play the mpeg 2 in another player such as BSplayer, WinDVD, or PowerDVD to see if the same problem is occurring.
